Creating Headlines That Sell

A headline is what pulls people in to your information. It makes them want to read more, and find out more information about you. Throughout the past one hundred years, many studies have been done to find out the best types of headlines. You can even find reports on specific headlines (you just have to insert your product or company name into the headline). But there are some basic guidelines to follow to create a proven and well-written headline.

  • Create a headline that announces what you have to offer. Use words like: Introducing, Just Released, New, Now, Announcing, At Last.
  • Feature your offer in your headline. Place items like your pricing, newly reduced pricing, new and improved product, or easy payment plans.
  • Using the word free. People love “free”. If they can get something for free, they will. By including a “free report” or a “free offer” in your headline, your steps ahead in capturing your readers attention.
  • Create headlines that begin with the words “How To”. People love to be taken along step by step. How To headlines implies you will be providing detailed steps, and creating an easy environment for people to follow. “How To Eliminate The Biggest Headache Of Planning A Wedding With One Phone Call”
  • Use a testimonial in your headline. You’ve seen these everywhere. “I lost 35 pounds in 6 weeks.” They take hot buttons in our lives, and turn them into headlines that beg you to read more.
  • Use numbered lists with reasons. “7 Ways To Plan Your Wedding Faster” “11 Reasons To Use A Professional For Your Wedding Photography” “5 Secrets To Saving Thousands While Planning An Elaborate Wedding”
