Multiple Marketing Channels
I attended a seminar on Thursday, and was impressed by the number of ways the speaker, a business coach, was marketing his products. His number one approach to business was to have a wide variety of products and services to sell, and to have a mixture of ways he get his word out to clients about his products and services. He stated that he was a big believer in multiple streams of income AND in multiple channels of marketing his business.
It led me to begin thinking about how every business should have multiple marketing channels. They should have different ways of marketing each business product and/or services to various sources. By never relying on any one way to market your business, you will never be vulnerable to downturns or mood-swings.
For example, if you are a wedding planner, brainstorm and create a list of 50 different ways you can reach newly engaged couples.
To help get you started, I’ve come up with a few:
- Bridal salons
- Bridal guides
- Magazines
- Referral sources through mailings
- Reception sites
- Bridal stores
- Rental companies
- Direct mail
- TV shows/Radio shows
- Books
Now take your list, and create a plan of action to reach the people at each of the locations you have listed. Put each plan into place, and begin increasing your business! |
